Technical design and development of J2EE application modules, primarily JSPs, Java classes and Enterprise Java Beans.

This position involves both client-facing activities as a technical consultant and the participation to internal software development projects. The role includes the creation of technical design documents and creation, unit test and documentation for J2EE advanced application components, such as EJBs etc.. Participation to system testing and integration testing activities, maintenance and support may also be included, as well as participation to high level system design workshops.

This position may also involve supervision of a small team.

Training on used technologies and software packages will be provided when necessary.

Experienced Java (J2EE) programmer with at least 3 year commercial Java experience required for an innovative and pioneering company within Surrey.

MANDATORY - Development skills must include full confidence with the following J2EE technologies:

* JSP / Servlets

* EJB

* XML manipulation

* XSL

* SQL

Experience on at least one of the leading J2EE application servers (Sun^TM iPlanet, BEA WebLogic, IBM^TM WebSphere) is also required and must include installation, configuration and performance tuning.

OPTIONAL - In addition to the above skills, candidates showing good familiarity with the following areas will be given preferential treatment:

* Web front-end design and HTML/DHTML

* Web server (Apache, MS IIS) configuration

* UML or equivalent O-O modeling tool

* Networking, firewalls and web security in general

* Web Content Management packages.
